Cathiterization

They did an echo last night and it appears that the shunt inserted during Abby's first surgery has started to narrow at the bottom, restricting blood flow. So this morning they took her in for a cathiterzation to get a better look. This was one of the risks for this particular shunt type that we were told about before her surgery. So, they have seen this before and know what to do. There are risks however, so we appreciate all the thoughts and prayers.

If this is the case, they will place a stint on the spot to widen it and hopefully solve the problem. If this is not the problem, I'm not sure what happens next. There is some talk, depending on measurments and such, that they will consider doing her second surgery sooner, rather than around 4-6 months old.

Bryan left last night to go back to work, and I stayed her in Philly. He should be able to get here around 2pm today after he finishes up in the simulator.

We'll keep you all posted!
