Much to our surprise, they already took Abby off the ventilator and she is breathing on her own. This is huge for her! They told us that being off by now was a big accomplishment and that she is doing great. The nurses have told us that Abby could not be doing any better. What a relief!
Our next big step is to work on feeding her and they are going to try to give her a feeding through a tube later today.

I sent you an email, but then logged on here! I was shocked to find out that Abby was here already!
I was expecting to see you with your feet up and ready next week, so this was a surprise! I am so glad to hear that she is doing well, this must put your mind at ease just a little bit?
