Our First Setback

This afternoon Abby had her first setback. Things have been going so perfectly, but we were bound to run into some sort of problem eventually. They removed some monitoring lines that were stitched into her heart during surgery. When they did a chest x-ray afterwards, they noticed that she was developing some fluid build up, which is definitely bad. So they stopped feeding her, and went ahead and started the medication to help regulate heart rate. Now they will watch to see if her body reabsorbs the fluid on it's own or if they have to drain it for her. She will get another chest x-ray in the morning, so we will know more then.
Bryan and I had spent the afternoon with Anna today. It was a great visit and she is doing really well with my parents. We'll update as soon as we know more.

I'm so sorry she had a set back. She is strong and will be better in no time. Praying for her as usual.

I continue to think of you guys and will keep my fingers crossed that this is just a small bump in the road. Kiss her for me!

I am so glad you got to see Anna. Did she go crazy when she saw you?
